Leaders of a five-month-long protest in Thailand have been released on bail after surrendering to police on charges of inciting unrest. They are expected to continue their campaign to unseat the government.
The leaders of the People's Alliance for Democracy surrendered after a court on Thursday dropped insurrection charges against them, but retained charges of inciting a public disturbance and illegal assembly. The charges carry prison terms of seven and three years respectively. PAD protesters stormed a state television station and occupied the prime minister's official compound at the end of August.
