The US military says 11 people have been killed in a raid targeting a "wanted man" in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.

Car bomb attack hits Iraqi market ... statement said a suicide bomber blew himself up following a gun battle. It was unclear how many of those killed, which included women and children, died in the blast or from gunfire. Elsewhere in Mosul, four people were killed when a gunman attacked a group of mourners at a funeral. Mosul is considered the last urban stronghold of Al Qaeda in Iraq.
