US ambassador hauled on carpet over Waziristan raid ... Officials in Pakistan say a missile fired by a suspected US drone has hit a house in a tribal area bordering Afghanistan, killing at least eight Islamist militants.
The attack took place in North Waziristan, regarded as a haven for Taliban militants and members of the al-Qaeda terrorist network. It was the latest in a string of incidents on the border that have raised tensions between Islamabad and Washington, with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari vowing zero tolerance against violations of Pakistan's sovereignty. Washington has said it supports Pakistan's "territorial integrity".
