Chinese police have arrested at least 22 people suspected of the production of melamine, the chemical found in milk products which have made thousands of babies ill.
The apprehensions took place in northern Hebei province, the centre of the milk scandal. Police discovered over 220 kilograms of melamine during raids on dairy farms and milk purchasing stations.
