Obama calls for increase of US troops in Afghanistan ... on its Iraq policy. The debate also focused on the current global financial crisis. Most US media stopped short of declaring one or the other candidate outright winner. Despite occasional barbs, both men worked to keep a civil tone, which the media called a welcome relief from the campaign's previous nastiness.
