The five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany have agreed a draft resolution on Iran's nuclear programme, diplomats have said.
It is thought to reaffirm three earlier rounds of UN sanctions imposed by the sextet in an effort to force Iran to end its uranium enrichment programme.
Western nations suspect Iran aims to create a nuclear weapons capability.
On Wednesday, Iran's president said it would resist "bullying powers" who tried to thwart its nuclear ambitions.
