North Korea has informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that it plans to restart its Yongbyon plutonium-reprocessing facility by next week.
The Vienna-based nuclear watchdog said in a statement that its monitors had complied with North Korean demands to remove all seals and cameras from the reactor. They added that in future IAEA inspectors would be barred from the reprocessing plant.
