The Channel Tunnel linking Britain and France has been evacuated due to a fire.
The company that operates the link, Eurotunnel, says fire-fighters have extinguished the blaze, which broke out on a freight train about 10 kilometres from the French side of the under-sea link. There were 32 people on board the train at the time of the fire. They were moved to safety, though a number have reportedly been treated for smoke inhalation. Traffic through the tunnel has been suspended until Friday morning at the earliest.
