A total of 82 percent of Czech citizens say they are satisfied with their life, which is 5 percent more than the EU average. Some 39 percent of respondents are concerned about health care and 38 percent about inflation causing higher prices. While in spring 2006, only 12 percent of people mentioned inflation as a serious problem, last year it was 42 percent. On the other hand, health care is a typical Czech problem. The Eurobarometer poll shows that it has worried some 40 percent of citizens. Czechs are also concerned about crime, mentioned by 24 percent of respondents. One-fifth of people point to pension problems. The share of people who consider unemployment one of the most serious problems has dropped from 54 to 13 percent since 2004. Eurobarometer, assessing the moods of inhabitants of all EU member states, has made this type of poll on Czechs for the eighth time. The poll was conducted on April 2-17 on 1014 respondents.
