The first doping case at this year's Tour de France has ended in the apprehension of the rider.
French police have taken Manuel Beltran into custody according to his employer, the Liquigas cycling team. The blood boosting substance EPO was found in his blood after a first sample on Saturday. Liquigas said Beltran would be fired immediately if his second sample proved positive. Spaniard Luis Leon Sanchez won Friday's stage. Luxembourg's Kim Kirchen retained the yellow jersey.
