Based on this year's first estimates, statisticians said today that per hectare yield will be 9.4 percent higher at 4.79 tonnes. Area under crops, however, has fallen by 21,000 ha for the basic cereals or by 1.5 percent to 1.435 billion ha.
Wheat covers 55.9 percent of the area and barley 33.6 percent, statisticians said.
