The planned 600 million euro merger between Germany's second-biggest airline Air Berlin and the charter carrier Condor has collapsed.
Air Berlin said it had withdrawn its application from the Federal Cartel Office. The cartel office had earlier raised concerns that the merger would stifle competition to the Mediterranean region, a favourite vacation destination for Germans.
