Mbeki meets Mugabe ... Harare to try and convince both sides to form a unity government but both Mugabe and Tsvangirai have shown little willingness to negotiate. Mbeki is now travelling to Japan to participate at the G-8 summit of the world's leading industrial nations. The White House has said it expects heads of state at the summit to condemn strongly Mugabe over the poll.
