German Foreign Minister Criticized For Not Meeting Dalai Lama ... the plans, a patient's national health service would be required to pay for the treatment received in another EU country, as long as it would have paid for it to be done at home. European Health Commissioner Androulla Vassilou told reporters in Brussels that she still expected to most people to seek medical care at home. But she said the changes could help people living in border regions in particular seek specialised care that can be best provided in another country. The proposals have to be approved by the European parliament and the governments of EU members states before they can take effect.
