At least five people have been killed and more than 300 others injured in riots in the Mongolian capital, Ulan Bator.
Amongst those killed was a Japanese journalist. Police have arrested hundreds of demonstrators during protests against alleged fraud in last weekend's general elections. Mongolian President Nambariin Enkhbayar has called a four-day state of emergency in response to the violence. Protestors reportedly set fire to the headquarters of the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party, which won the election. The opposition Democratic Party has accused the MPRP of election manipulation.
